First Annual Caddo River Tubing Trip

We are sad to inform you that the July 7 HSV Paddlers Club tubing trip on the Caddo River is CANCELLED due to low water levels and extreme heat. After consulting we determined that there would be too many “stops & drags” over gravel bars at the current water level. In addition, the extreme heat is definitely a consideration.
We hope to reschedule after rain refills the river and the temperature is under 100 degrees! We’ll try to keep you informed! Please be advised that it could be a “pop-up” event (an event that is unscheduled, unplanned and organizes at the last minute).

If you miss the meeting time at Brookshire’s parking lot for caravanning at 8:45am, you can drive to Glenwood, AR and meet at Lucky’s Canoe at ~9:50am.

Concerned about the hot weather recently? Note that the tubing event will start early and that even after the day begins to get hot, cooling off is just a splash away. Nevertheless it is prudent to bring plenty of non-alcoholic beverages to stay hydrated. In addition things like sunblock, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses, and sturdy footwear suitable for water use are all advisable. Then after a bit of a car ride, it is just a matter of reclining into your tube and relaxing with friends in a leisurely float in some of the best of the Natural State.
